Each year, the annual Miss Sun Fiesta Pageant is held to help young women with scholarship money for college.

 

The pageant is open to young women ages 17-21 years of age with a 3.5 GPA or higher, who have received honors in academics or sports, and have done a minimum of 75 hours of community service.

 

Five judges from the community preside over the pageant and score the candidates on their written essay, public speaking, stage presence, personality, and community service. The pageant winner receives a $2,000.00 scholarship, 1st runner-up receives a $1,500.00 scholarship, and 2nd runner-up receives a $1,000.00 scholarship.

 

The pageant will be held this year on Saturday, October 21 at Centennial Park.
